Inside the protective shell of the 3 1/2" micro floppy diskette are two soft discs, one on either side of the recording media. These liners protect the recording disk from being scratched by the inside of the diskette housing. The liners also keep dust from accumulating on the disk which might interfere with the |read/write head|.
